What is Quadrille?
In the summer of 2019, Jeff and I attended the Concordia ball in Vienna, Austria. It was at this event in which we were introduced to the wonderful world of Quadrille.

Quadrille is a social dance that is a highlight of many balls in Vienna. It is a group dance that originated in France and was popular in Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The Quadrille marries choreography with celebratory camaraderie.
The Quadrille promises sheer delight: with charming calls and moments of humor, it creates a relaxed atmosphere that gets everyone on their feet. No prior knowledge of the steps is required, as instructions are provided live. Whether novice or a seasoned dancer, Quadrille is an invitation to come together, share laughter and joy, and experience the unity of a timeless tradition.

Under the expert guidance of esteemed dance master, Jason Anderson, you will be led gracefully through the sequence of figures.
Jason discovered his passion for social dancing while he was a student at Stanford University. While there, he joined the Stanford Viennese Ball Opening Committee and choreographed for the group. After graduating, he joined the vintage dance group The Academy of Danse Libre, and has danced and performed all over the world, including St. Petersburg, Moscow, Paris, Prague, Edinburgh, and in the opening ceremony for the Vienna Philharmonic Ball. He loves the city of Vienna and has organized several trips for dancers to enjoy the ball season, and he hopes you all will enjoy the Quadrille, a fun dance enjoyed by all ball attendees of all skill levels at every Viennese Ball.
